We are looking for an enthusiastic team player to support a growing startup company in the distribution/sales/marketing industry with an exciting future ahead! You will be supporting our Senior Accountant and playing an important role in building up the company from 14 people to 35+ in the coming 3 years with offices within and outside Europe. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in a growing international business and develop into an accounting leader in the long term. This is a 12 month fixed term contract that may lead to a permanent position at our Prague 8 – Karlin office, 5min. from Křižíkova metro/tram station. Business language is Czech/Slovak, and also English to support our international business and expansion plans.

To be successful in this role you will have a keen eye for detail and will be at ease speaking with people at all levels, on the phone, per email and in person. You should be a good team player and be able to proactively work unsupervised and drive projects on your own.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Support complete accounting for our Czech and Slovak branches
– Record and work with various documents (e.g. invoices, bank statements)
– Work on periodic closures
– Acquisitions, depreciations, disposals and transfers of assets
– Check the factual accuracy of the documents and tax
– Preparation of the tax return
– Initiate, develop, facilitate and/or lead accounting projects and process improvements based on your in-depth analysis or recommendations from colleagues

– Fluent in Czech and conversational knowledge of English (minimum B2) are a must, other languages are a plus
– Min. Secondary education, preferably in finance, accounting and/or economics
– Good Microsoft Excel and basic Microsoft Office skills

– Excellent attention to detail and proactive in problem solving
– Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
– Independent and self-motivated, with a desire to meet and exceed measurable performance goals with limited management attention
